Course Overview

Almost all jobs include work that involves performing some form of manual handling.

Hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control should be applied to hazards from performing manual tasks, including manual handing.

Employers are required to provide information, instruction, training and supervision to their employees so that they are not exposed to manual task hazards.

This course provides practical guidance for managing risks associated with those manual tasks that have the potential to cause or contribute to injury or illness.

This course is based on the Code of Practice for Hazardous Manual Tasks.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand what is meant by the term “manual tasks” and how they cause injury

  • To understand the relevant legal requirements

  • To apply the principles in the Commission for Occupational Health Code of practice: Manual tasks to identify, assess and control risks

 

On Completion

On successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Completion will be issued.
