Injury Management Coordinator

Workplace Health and Safety

Course Overview

The Injury Management Coordinator Course is provided in association with Edith Cowan University.

The employee who has day-to-day responsibility for the Injury Management System is referred to as the Injury Management Coordinator.

This course is suitable for anyone who has responsibilities within the injury management system including Management representatives.

This course is also ideal for current Injury Management Coordinators and others that need to update their knowledge and skills and to maintain currency as a result of the recent changes in Workers Compensation legislation.

The Injury Management Coordinator course is aligned to the new Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023 and the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Regulations 2024. The new legislation was enacted on July 1st, 2024.

In Western Australia, the Workers’ Compensation scheme is administrated by WorkCover WA.  It falls under the WA Government’s Department for Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS). As the regulator, it enforces the Act by monitoring employers and insurers to ensure they meet their obligations.

Failing to have a WorkCover compliant Return-to-Work Program and Injury Management System in place is prohibited under The Act, for which significant penalties can apply.
